Selected Project Experience in High-Risk Industrial Environments

Kampa Advisors draws on delivery experience across regulated, operationally sensitive and complex industrial environments where governance, compliance and structured execution have needed to work together under pressure.

Project Context

Experience Shaped by Complex Delivery Conditions, Not Generic Project Narratives

The experience presented here reflects work carried out in regulated, operationally sensitive and delivery-critical industrial environments where governance, compliance and execution needed to work together.

Rather than broad consultancy case studies, these examples are intended to show the kinds of conditions, intervention points and delivery challenges in which Kampa Advisors has operated.

Examples of Delivery Environments and Intervention Scenarios

These examples illustrate the types of project conditions, compliance pressures and operationally sensitive environments in which Kampa Advisors has delivered senior-level intervention.

Functional Safety & Compliance Integration

A compliant delivery model established for a first-of-a-kind live industrial facility

Project at a glance

Project value
Approx. £250,000
Project duration
11 months
Delivery structure
Internal project team and five external contractors

Senior project and compliance leadership in a live manufacturing environment developing low-carbon production using hybrid fuel systems, where DSEAR, PUWER and IEC 61511 obligations had to be integrated into delivery as the design evolved.

Outcome: A structured and auditable delivery model established within a live, compliance-critical industrial environment.

Automated Production Line Replacement

Complex multi-OEM production line delivered from FAT through integration to operational acceptance

Project at a glance

Project value
Approx. £2.2 million
Project duration
Eight months
Delivery structure
Eight specialist contractors and OEMs coordinated through delivery

End-to-end project leadership for the replacement and integration of an automated production line within a live manufacturing facility.

The project covered technical assurance and FAT, removal of the existing line, site preparation and infrastructure works, mechanical and electrical installation, controls integration, PUWER readiness, commissioning, operator training and staged performance testing.

The principal challenge was not simply installing new machinery. It was integrating independently supplied equipment, controls, safety systems and existing production assets into one reliable production system.

Early technical review identified material interface, controls, safety-validation and commissioning risks. These were managed through supplier challenge, structured testing, corrective actions and system-level commissioning. The project ultimately progressed through staged performance testing across multiple product configurations to formal operational acceptance.

Outcome: Automated production line successfully installed, integrated and commissioned, with performance testing completed and formal operational acceptance achieved.

Production Environment Redesign

A live production environment restructured to improve layout, flow and operational performance

Project at a glance

Project value
Approx. £800,000
Project duration
14 months
Delivery scale
Up to 20 contractor personnel working simultaneously across the site

Full transformation of an inefficient production environment through refurbishment, workspace reconstruction, infrastructure upgrades and 5S-led layout redesign, all delivered within a live operational setting.

Outcome: Operational flow, workspace efficiency and delivery conditions improved within a live industrial environment.

Machine Relocation & Multi-Asset Installation

Multiple production assets relocated, installed and commissioned under live manufacturing conditions

Project at a glance

Project value
Approx. £750,000
Project duration
Six months
Combined asset value
Approx. £6 million
Delivery structure
Five external contractors coordinated as part of the delivery team

Coordination of dismantling, transport, civil works, services integration, commissioning and operator training across an eight-machine installation programme, with assets integrated into existing production without loss of continuity.

Outcome: Multiple assets installed and integrated successfully without loss of manufacturing continuity.

Intervention Scenarios

Where Support Is Typically Brought In

Support is typically introduced when project conditions are becoming harder to control, governance is weakening or compliance and delivery are no longer properly aligned.

These are not generic project support situations. They are usually environments where pressure, complexity or operational sensitivity mean stronger structure and senior judgement are needed.

Delivery Confidence Is Weakening

The project may still be moving, but confidence in control, stability or execution is beginning to erode.

Governance Is Slowing or Obscuring Decisions

Reporting increases, but ownership, accountability and decision-making become less clear rather than stronger.

Compliance Pressure Is Increasing

Assurance, evidence and regulatory obligations are becoming harder to maintain within the pace of delivery.

Brownfield or Live Conditions Are Exposing Weaknesses

Existing assets, operational continuity and interface complexity make standard delivery approaches insufficient.

Stakeholder Complexity Is Undermining Control

Multiple parties remain involved, but structure, alignment and disciplined execution are no longer holding together.

Initial Project Triage

If the Environment Is Complex, Regulated or Harder to Control, Start with a Practical Conversation

Kampa Advisors is engaged where delivery, governance, compliance and operational reality need to be brought back into alignment through structured, senior-level intervention.
